George Mason was one of the main speakers at the convention.
George Mason was the main opposition to the Constitution. He had many issues with it. Some being:
-It did not have a declaration of rights.
-It had nothing in regards to slavery.
-It weakened many aspects of the state governments.
-The legislature has too much say in commerce.
Other notes about Mason:
-Many of his ideas were used in the bill of rights.
-He was good friends with Washington.
-He refused to take any office.
-He owned slaves but was a strong opposer of slavery.
-He had a very large family.
